Core values
From our experience and understanding of the call of God, we have identified Core Values that define the evangelical perspective, central ethos and fundamental principles of our community life and training programs.
These Core Values express our deepest aspirations. They are a constant challenge in our obedience to God's call to equip people for effective Christian ministry, and form the reference point for all the requirements of our community life.
- We acknowledge our primary allegiance to love God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We accept the Bible as the inspired authoritative Word of the Living God, without error in all that it affirms, the final reference for our belief and behaviour.
- We acknowledge our model of theological education to be that of diligent and honest participation in a rigorous and relevant study program that is an accountable response to the God of glory.
- We are committed to be a community expressing in daily life our love for God and each other, valuing each person, and uniting across different economic, educational, national, cultural and denominational boundaries.
- We are called to be disciples of Christ, growing in holiness in every area of personal and corporate life, identifying and developing our spiritual gifts and ministry skills.
- We recognise the family in God's economy as the centrepiece in community and demonstration of the Gospel at work.
- We respond to God and His call to mission to the peoples of the world, and so aim to equip students to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom in Australia and overseas, to demonstrate in sacrificial service the compassion and justice of God for all peoples in all circumstances, to help build and equip the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ for His glory.
- Core Values cannot be legislated. They must be willingly accepted and lived as the fabric of our life in a training and ministering community empowered by the Holy Spirit. Council, Faculty, Staff and Students are therefore called to covenant together before God to willingly accept these Core Values. The practical out-working of these Core Values in the life of our College is spelled out in the Student Handbook.
